Content Creation

Use the Whatfix Studio extension to create Whatfix content. Whatfix Studio is a browser plugin that enables you to create various types of Whatfix content, such as Flows, Smart Tips, and Beacons. Install the extension only on the following browsers. For more information, see Create Whatfix Content.

• Click the browser's name in the table to see information on how to find the current version number of each browser.

• The new Microsoft Edge browser is based on Chromium and is compatible with all supported versions of Windows and macOS. For more information, see the Difference between Edge (Chromium) and Legacy Edge.

Note:

• Since August 17, 2021, Internet Explorer no longer supports content creation. For more information, check Microsoft 365 apps say farewell to Internet Explorer 11 and Windows 10 sunsets Microsoft Edge Legacy. However, Internet Explorer supports end-user extensions.

• Starting October 1, 2024, Whatfix will update the Internet Explorer baseline version to IE 11. This means that Whatfix will no longer support any issues arising on versions below IE 11. Additionally, new functionalities such as the Improved Self Help, new Visibility Rules, AI capabilities, User identification, Locale configuration, and Custom Variables will not work on IE 11 due to browser compatibility issues. It is recommended to switch to Edge (Chromium) to access new features. However, this will not affect any functionality of existing Whatfix content on IE 10 or below.

• For applications where code embedding is not possible, users can deploy Whatfix using browser extensions on Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge (Chromium), and Internet Explorer.

• Internet Explorer 9+, and Opera 15+ support web applications with Frame sets.

• Ensure that your web applications use the Standard document mode in Internet Explorer.
