Whatfix has two kinds of extensions:

Studio extension: This is used by content creators to create in-app content like Flows, Smart Tips and Beacons, that require the users to select elements on the respective application.
Production extension: The production extension enables you to render the Whatfix content in the application of your end users using browser extensions.
This is applicable only if you don't have the access to your application code and cannot use the Javascript embed method of integration.

If you have access to your application code, you can use the Javascript embed method to integrate Whatfix to the application and your end users do not require a production extension.
