Whatfix Mirror enables you to create Language Variants of a Mirror Workflow for different languages and regions. Each language variant exists within the same Workflow, enabling you to deliver localized training experiences to your learners in their preferred language without manually creating separate Workflows.
For example, if you are onboarding employees across different regions to the same application, you can add a language variant for each region and select the corresponding language variant when sharing the Workflow with learners in that region. Whatfix Studio navigates the application and re-captures each Mirror Bildschirm in the selected language, so the Workflow structure stays the same while the onscreen text reflects the correct language.
Info:
Multi-Language support in Mirror applies to Workflows, Workflows within a Simulation, and Assessments.
Expand the following accordions for more details:
Step 1: Add a Language
Note:
Only an Account Manager can perform the following task. For more information about available roles, see Whatfix User Roles.
You can create localized versions only for supported languages. For more information, see Languages supported by Whatfix.
Add a language to your Whatfix Guidance Dashboard to enable localized versions of a Workflow. Once added, the language becomes available as an option for Whatfix Studio to automatically re-capture the Workflow in the selected language. If you do not add a language, it does not appear as an option during the capture process.
Use the following steps to add a language:
On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Settings.

Click Translations.

Click Add languages.

Click the Open Menu icon.

From the Select languages dropdown, select the required language.

Click Add.

Once you add a language, Whatfix Studio can automatically re-capture the Workflow in the selected language.
Step 2: Automate the Capture of a Workflow in a Different Language
Note:
Before you begin, set the application to the language you want to capture. If the application is not set to the correct language, Whatfix Studio will not capture the Mirror Screens in the selected language.
Before you create a Language Variant, ensure that you have created and captured a Workflow. You can create one Language Variant at a time; repeat the steps in this section for each additional language.
After you add a Language Variant, Whatfix Studio automatically re-captures the Mirror Bildschirms in the selected language. The Workflow structure and screen sequence remain unchanged, while the onscreen text reflects the selected language.
Use the following steps to automate the capture of a Workflow in a different language variant:
Launch Whatfix Studio on your application.

Click the Workflow that you want to create in a different language.

Click the Add Language Variant icon.

From the Language dropdown, click the Open icon.

Select the required language variant.

Click Proceed.

Info:
When you click Proceed, the page refreshes in the background and Whatfix Studio enables the Preview mode.
Review the Workflow selected and the trail of captures that are part of the Workflow.

Click Next.

Select all the pre-capture checklist items using the checkboxes.

Info:
Before you begin capture, complete the following pre-capture checklist to ensure that Whatfix Studio captures the Workflow in the language variant you selected:
Verify that the opened URL is correct: Open the same environment where you created the original Workflow capture.
Access the application settings and switch the interface to the required language: Confirm that the application displays the selected language before you start the capture.
Navigate to the initial screen of the selected workflow: Go to the exact screen where you started the original Workflow capture.
Click Begin Capture.

Info:
Once you click Begin Capture, Whatfix Studio automatically re-captures the Workflow in the selected language, following the same screen sequence as the default language variant of the Workflow.

Note:
Click Resume to continue the screen capture process. Whatfix continues navigating the application and capturing the remaining Mirror Screens in the defined sequence.
If Whatfix is unable to capture a Mirror Screen, a red highlight appears around the affected screen in Whatfix Studio, indicating that the capture failed for that screen. For assistance, contact support@whatfix.com.
After Whatfix Studio captures the Workflow in the selected language, you can access it from the Draft stage of the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard. For more information, see Overview of the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard.
Note:
After you create a Mirror, preview the Mirror to ensure your Workflow functions as required. For more information, see Preview a Mirror.
