Article summary

The Whatfix Guidance Dashboard stores the content you create for your Mirror using the Whatfix Studio. Use the Preview Mode or the See Live option during creation to review content.

Push the content and widgets to the Production stage to make them available in the end user's application. This action publishes the changes to the Whatfix CDN Servers. The content appears live only after publishing.

Note:

Only an Account Manager can perform the following task. For more information about available roles, see Whatfix User Roles.

Use the following steps to push Whatfix content and widgets to Production:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Ready.
    clm_db_ready_stage_select
Info:

Ensure all the content and widgets you want live are moved from the Draft stage to the Ready stage.
Select the content you want to move, and then click Send to ready.

  1. Click Publish all to move all content and widgets to the Production stage.

Note:

Whatfix enables you to review and publish selective content and widgets to Production. For more information, see Selective Publishing.

  1. Click Publish on the summary popover after you review the content that will go live.

Info:
  • When the process is complete, Whatfix sends a notification mail to your registered email address.
  • The Push to Production usually takes only a few minutes. However, depending on your deployment method, there might be a delay before end users see the updated content.
  • The time it takes for content and widgets to appear for your end users varies by deployment type:
-Whatfix Store deployments: Updates typically reflect within a few minutes after content is pushed.
-Extension-based deployments: Updates might take up to 30 minutes to appear. This time might vary depending on where the extension is hosted, such as the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Store, or another store.

Note:
  • For Task Lists, Whatfix publishes segments to the Production stage even if there is dependent content in the Draft or the Ready stages. However, in such cases, the dependent content won’t appear inside the segments until those units are moved to the Production stage.

  • Publish global themes, configurations, and other account-level changes without pushing any content or widgets to Production.
