Create a Cohort with Autocaptured events

Autocapture is a Beta feature. Contact support@whatfix.com to enable the feature.

Whatfix enables you to identify, track, and save Autocaptured events. Create Cohorts to group users who engaged or did not engage with Autocaptured events. Use these Cohorts in Visibility Rules (Beta) to target Whatfix content, such as Pop-ups or Smart Tips for further guidance.

Use cases:

  • Create a Cohort of users who triggered the Edit Opportunity event but did not trigger the Add Competitor event before saving in Salesforce. Based on the Cohort, show a Smart Tip on the Save button reminding users that competitor data is required for deal tracking.

  • Create a Cohort of users who triggered the Open Development Plan event but did not engage with the Add Learning Activity in SuccessFactors. Based on the Cohort, trigger a Beacon over the Add Activity icon that launches a Flow on how to link training courses to their goals.


Use the following steps to create a Cohort with Autocaptured events:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Audience.

  2. Click Cohorts.

  1. Click Create cohort.

  2. Click the Give your cohort a name textbox and enter a name for your Cohort.

    Provide a description that explains the purpose of the Cohort.

  3. Click the Data source icon and select the stage from which you want to get the data. For more information, see Get Analytics Data across CLM Stages.

  4. Click Add rule.

  5. Select Performed or Did not perform.

  6. Click Select event.

  7. Click Custom events.

  8. Select the Autocaptured event.

  9. Select the comparison operators (Equal to, Does not equal to, Greater than, Less than, Greater than or equal to, Less than or equal to) to compare the number of times the event occurs.

  10. Enter the count of occurrences of the event.

  11. Select the time duration (During or Since).

  12. Select the default or custom date filters.

  13. Click the Filter icon to select the Event or User attributes associated with the Event. For example, group users who interacted with the Autocaptured event, Edit Opportunity using the Chrome browser.

  14. Go to the And also meet the below conditions section, and then click Add a group to add more rules.

  15. Go to the Users in this cohort section, and then click Refresh to view the number of users included in the Cohort.

    The following image shows the number of users part of the Cohort.

  16. Click Save.

    Use the Cohort as Visibility Rules (Beta) to target Whatfix content based on end-user engagement with Autocaptured events.
