Article Summary

Visibility rules are used to define where and to whom you display Whatfix content after it is published. One way to do this is by using Window Variable values to control where the widgets appear.
For example, you can choose to display different widget segments on different windows of desktop applications.
You can show a Task List when a User navigates to the Welcome page in MS Teams, or a Self Help tab when they upload files on the Files page.

Finding the Window Variable value

Use the following process to find the value of the Window Variable for any page of your target desktop application,

  1. Go to the page you want to create content on the target desktop application.

  2. Hover the cursor over the application's icon on the task bar. This title is the Window Variable Value for the page you are on.
