Types of installers
DAP on OS provides three distinct installer files, which IT Administrators and end users can use to install the DAP on OS application.
User-level installer: User-level installation installs DAP on OS for a single user of a system, inside the user’s localAppData folder. It enables end users to install DAP on OS independently without any external help.
System level installer: System level installation of DAP on OS directly installs DAP on OS inside the Program Files of the user's computer. The installation process ensures that the DAP on OS app is deployed for all users on the machine without requiring multiple installations for each user. It is primarily used by IT admins to mass deploy the DAP on OS app and is also used for virtual desktop deployment.
System level distributor: System level distribution or bulk deployment of DAP on OS app, deploys a distributor file of the DAP on OS app inside the Program Files. Consecutively, when a user logs into the computer, an installer file is distributed to the respective localAppData folder, and the DAP on OS app is installed for that particular user.
For example, you have a Windows computer used by multiple people in your organization, each with a separate user profile and login credentials for the same computer. Once the system-level distribution is carried out by the IT Admin, a distributor file for the DAP on OS app is added to the computer. The first time a user logs into their respective profile, the DAP on OS app is installed in the localAppData of that particular user.
Whatfix can help you understand which installer best suits your organization based on the following questionnaire:

Two approaches to installing DAP on OS
User level installation and system level installation can both be done either using a UI based installation method or a Command Line based installation method.
UI based installation enables you to install the DAP on OS using the Installation Wizard while Command Line-based installation is carried out using the Command Prompt or Terminal. Admin rights are not required for either method.
