Whatfix enables you to create different types of DAP Guidance directly on Mirror. Each type serves a specific purpose in the training experience.
For example, you can guide learners through a workflow step by step, draw attention to key UI elements, or deliver on-demand help at the point of need. This enhances the training experience by combining Mirror Workflows with interactive guidance for effective and consistent training.
Note:
By default, DAP guidance configured for a base application appears on Mirror simulations that include screens captured from the same application. For more information, see Configure Where DAP Guidance Appears.
Types of DAP Guidance
Depending on your training requirements, you can use one or more of the following types of DAP Guidance on Mirror.
Flows: Flows provide step-by-step, interactive guidance that walks learners through tasks. For example, you can guide a new hire through the steps of submitting a purchase order as part of an onboarding Workflow on Mirror. For more information, see What are Flows?
Pop-ups: Pop-ups display contextual information to learners at key points in their workflow. For example, you can display a welcome message on the first Mirror Screen before a learner begins a Workflow. For more information, see What are Whatfix Pop-ups?
Beacons: Beacons capture learner attention and draw focus to specific UI elements, such as new features or important actions. For example, you can highlight a newly added button that learners must interact with during the Workflow. For more information, see What are Beacons?
Smart Tips: Smart Tips provide contextual tooltips on specific UI elements and deliver additional information to learners exactly where they need it. For example, you can explain what a mandatory field requires when a learner hovers over it during a data entry workflow. For more information, see What are Smart Tips?
Blockers (Beta): Blockers overlay specific UI elements to restrict interaction and prompt learners with a reason or instruction before they can proceed. For example, you can prevent a learner from clicking a button before completing a required step. For more information, see What is a Blocker?
Cues (Beta): Cues are non-intrusive, slide-in nudges that appear at the right moment to guide learners toward the next step without interrupting their workflow. For example, you can surface a quick nudge on a complex screen to remind a learner of the next action. For more information, see What are Cues?
Task Lists: Task Lists present learners with a structured set of tasks to complete and enable them to track their own progress. For example, you can present a new hire with a checklist of Workflows to complete during their first week of onboarding. For more information, see What is a Task List?
Self Help: Self Help provides an in-app panel where learners can access curated content, search for guidance, and find answers on demand. For example, you can give learners access to relevant Flows and articles while practicing a Workflow independently. For more information, see What is Self Help?

To create and publish DAP guidance that appears on Mirror, use Whatfix Studio and configure the visibility rules. For more information, see Create DAP Guidance on Mirror and Visibility and Display Rule Conditions.
