Create User Journeys to visualize the different paths your end user takes in an application. You can visualize the paths that your end users take to complete a task and analyze if they're taking the right path. Also, filter the users based on their country, city, browser, and more.
Ensure that you create User Actions before using them to visualize the User Journey.
Use the following steps to create a User Journey:
- On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.
-
On the top right, click + Create Insights.
-
Using the dropdown, select User Journey.
-
To name your User Journey, click the Edit icon.
-
To choose a starting point from where you want to visualize the path your end users take, choose the Start option.
-
To add the User Action from where you want to visualize the User Journey, click Change Start Point and then click Custom Events.
-
Using the dropdown, select the User Action.
The User Actions appear in the dropdown only if your end users have performed the action at least once.
-
To track the path your end users have taken to reach a specific end point, choose the End option.
-
To add the User Action, click Change End Point and then click Custom Events.
-
Select the User Action using the dropdown.
-
To filter the User Journey based on certain criteria like browser, country, etc., click Add User Filter and then select the criteria as required. For example, analyze the User Journey of an end user who starts from the Analytics -> Beacon page from USA.

your title goes hereYou can visualize the User Journey in the form of a Sankey chart as shown in the following image,
The chart shows the journey of users who started from Analytics --> Beacon and moved to other pages from there.
your title goes here- You can choose to visualize a specific number of levels/actions your end users have progressed in the application from the starting User Action or the number of levels/actions your end users have progressed through to reach the end User Action.
-
By default, the number of levels you can track is set as 4. You can track up to 10 levels.
-
The levels of interaction include the start page.

Click Save.
