By default, Whatfix evaluates only one Launcher collection at a time per page.
Use the following steps to add a Launcher to an existing collection:
-
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.
-
Click Launchers.
-
Click Launch live edit.
-
Once the Studio launches on your application, click +Add Launcher.
-
Select an element or location on the application where you want the Launcher to appear.
-
Enter a name for the Launcher.
-
Under the CONFIGURATIONS section, expand Interaction.
-
In the Launcher Text box, enter the text for the button.
Make the following changes to the Launcher text using the Rich Text Editor:
-
Bold the text
-
Make the text italic
-
Underline the text
-
Change the font size of the text
-
The Launcher text can have up to 50 characters.
- In the Launcher Actions section, use the dropdown and select the content you want to trigger through a Launcher.
To attach content to a Launcher, if you do not find it in the dropdown menu, it means that there is no draft or ready version of the content. Content that is in Production will not display. Create a version of the content and then attach it to the Launcher. When you push the Launcher to the Production stage, the content linked to the Launcher is also pushed to the Production stage.
- To attach the content, click + Attach Flow and select the content.
The button changes as per the Launcher Action you have selected.
- Expand the Appearance dropdown, under the Type section, select the Launcher appearance using the dropdown menu.
-
Select the Label Only option if you want your Launcher to appear as a button.
-
Use different button styles to suit the underlying application. Select between Filled (Primary) button, Outline (Secondary) button, and Text button styles based on your use case.
-
Configure the Color, Corner radius, Height, and Width for the Launcher.
-
Select the Icon only option if you want your Launcher to appear as an icon.
-
Select an icon for the Launcher, and then configure the Color and Size for the Launcher.
-
By default, Whatfix provides three types of icons for a Launcher.
-
Whatfix enables you to add your custom icons for your Launchers. For more information, see Use custom icons for Smart Tips.
-
Expand the Position dropdown, click the Lock icon to unlock and set the position of the Launcher.
-
Click Save Launcher.
-
Click Save.
Whatfix also enables you to add Launchers to a Launcher collection that is in the Production stage by moving it to the Draft Stage, and then following the steps listed.
