Whatfix enables you to define specific steps as optional while creating a Walkthrough. By making a step optional, you enable users to bypass that particular step and proceed directly to the next relevant step in the Walkthrough.
Optional steps ensure that the user experience is not broken because of different possible scenarios. Optional steps are skipped when those app screens or elements are not displayed to a certain set of users, thus ensuring continuity of the Walkthrough for all kinds of scenarios. So if the user is already logged in to the app, they are not shown the Walkthrough step for the login screen, while those who have not logged in, see the step to log in.
Use the following steps to make a step optional:
-
Design the Walkthrough as required. For more information see, Create Walkthrough.
-
In the configuration panel, enable the Make this step optional toggle.
Whatfix enables you to make any step in the Walkthrough optional except for the first and the last steps.
