Add User List in Trend Insights

Filter User Lists as User filters in Trend Insights to drill down on the user behavior. This feature enables the inclusion or exclusion of specific user groups from data analysis.

Use cases

  • Identify how many Marketing team members completed an onboarding Task List.

  • Determine the average session duration of new users in the application.

  • Determine how many users in a region specific User List interacted with a Pop-up.

  • Analyze how many users completed a Flow shown only to new members of the Sales team.

Filter users who engaged with Whatfix content or the application based on User Lists

Use the following steps to filter users who engaged with Whatfix content or the application based on User Lists:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.

  2. Click Create Insight.

  3. Click Trend Insights.

  1. Click the Give your insight a name text box and enter a name for your Insight.

  2. Click the Description text box and enter a description that explains what the Trend Insight is about.

  3. From the Select user type dropdown, choose whether to analyze data for All users, Identified users, or Anonymous users.

Note:
  • By default, Insights data may contain identified (users identified by User ID) and unidentified (users not identified but denoted by Anonymized Whatfix IDs) users.
  • The Event identification rate indicates the percentage of events Whatfix is able to attribute to uniquely identified users.

  1. Click the Data source icon and select the stage from which you want to get the data.

    Note:

    • For more information on obtaining analytics data from different stages, see Get Analytics Data across CLM Stages.

    • The stage cannot change after creating the Insight. Switching to a different stage resets the Insight, requiring a restart.

  2. Click Choose metric.

  3. Under Event metrics, select Total events or Unique users as required.

  4. Click Add event and then add the required Guidance events, App events, or Event group.

  5. Add the required Filter or Breakdown for the event.

    Info:

  6. In the User filter section, click Add user filter, search User List, and then select it.

    Note:

    Whatfix enables you to add only up to two User Lists as User filters.

  7. Select the desired User List to filter users, and then click Apply. In this example, New users is the User List.

  8. In the User breakdown section, click Add user breakdown, and then select the desired breakdown.

  9. After the setup is complete, scroll down to view the generated data.

    Note:

    • Visualize the data using different metrics and chart types.

    • Filter data based on Daily, Weekly, or Monthly timeframes.

    • Click Summarize to generate an AI summary of the Trend Insight. This helps you interpret the data more easily and understand key patterns. You need to enable Ask Whatfix AI to get the AI summary.

  10. Click Save.

Filter session data based on User Lists

Use the following steps to filter session data based on User Lists in Trend Insights:

  1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Insights.

  2. Click Create Insight.

  3. Click Trend Insights.

  1. Click the Give your insight a name text box and enter a name for your Insight.

  2. Click the Description text box and enter a description that explains what the Trend Insight is about.

  3. From the Select user type dropdown, choose whether to analyze data for All users, Identified users, or Anonymous users.

Note:

    Note:

  3. Under Session metrics, select the desired Session metric. For more information, see Analyze sessions using Trend Insights.

    Note:

    • Currently, session metrics don’t have any filters or breakdowns.

    • The following image shows a session metric added:

    • Currently, Whatfix enables you to visualize only one session metric per Trend Insight.

  4. In the User filter section, click Add user filter, search User List, and then select it.

    Note:

    Whatfix enables you to add only up to two User Lists as User filters.

  5. Select the desired User List to filter users, and then click Apply. In this example, New users is the User List.

  6. In the User breakdown section, click Add user breakdown, and then select the desired breakdown.

  7. Scroll down to view the generated data chart.

    Note:
