The New Guidance Analytics dashboard experience is a Beta feature. It will be enabled in batches starting on October 8, 2024. Contact support@whatfix.com for more information.
Background on the existing Guidance Analytics dashboard experience
Currently, you may be using Whatfix's Guidance Analytics on the Whatfix Guidance dashboard to understand end-user engagement with Whatfix content.
The following are some challenges observed in the current Guidance Analytics experience:
You may have tried recreating the Guidance Analytics metrics using Product Analytics' Insights and you may have observed a data mismatch between the two frameworks. This is because Guidance Analytics uses custom queries for certain metrics, such as Flow navigated away and Flow completion rate. These metrics are obtained as a result of computation of multiple events. This computation takes place in the backend, and you have no idea what events are used. However, there is no such complex computation happening in Insights. If you want the data for the number of users who completed a Flow, add the Flow completed event and you get the results in a straight forward manner.
Currently, the Guidance Analytics dashboard does not contain any event or user filters to help you filter and drill down data.

Event filters help you drill down on the event. For example, analyze the number of users who interacted with a particular Smart tip segment called Onboarding. For more information, see Filter events using Event Filters and breakdown.
User filters help you filter the users who perform the event based on city, country, browser, and more. For example, analyze the number of users who interacted with Smart tips using the Chrome browser. For more information, see Filter Insights data using User Filters and User Breakdown.
The existing Guidance Analytics dashboard does not contain any descriptions of the metrics for you to understand how they are computed.
Overview of the new Guidance Analytics Dashboard experience
Whatfix introduces the New Guidance Analytics Dashboard experience, wherein you can visualize all the existing Guidance Analytics metrics using Insights. Whatfix provides each Guidance Analytics metric as a Trend Insights, which are added to Dashboards corresponding to the respective content or widget. These pre-defined Dashboards can be accessed from the Guidance analytics section of the Whatfix Guidance dashboard. The new experience enables you to add event and user filters to drill down on the data and also shows you how the metric is calculated.
