Issue

When you try to upload an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) icon, the upload fails and Whatfix displays an error message. The issue happens when the SVG icons are not in the required size and format.

Suggested Solutions

  • Ensure that the SVG’s height and width are defined within the <svg> tag for the elements inside the SVG to scale accordingly. Defining the height and width maintains the overall icon size while also retaining the proportion of internal components to the specified dimensions.

  • Avoid uploading SVGs with fixed colors such as (for example, fill="blue"). Instead, select or create SVGs with dynamic color properties such as fill="currentColor".

  • As a best practice, maintain the maximum supported dimensions for icons in the Whatfix library as 48×48 pixels. The file size should not exceed 25kB.

Note:

For more information on the best practices followed for image creation and upload in the icon library, see Icon Library Best Practices.
