Embed SharePoint or Microsoft Stream videos to any Pop-up template to deliver additional information to users. Embed the video in the description section. For more information on Whatfix Pop-up templates, see Choose the Pop-up template.
Adding a video embed code in a Pop-up is a 2-step process.
-
Step 1: Get the video embed code
-
Step 2: Insert the video embed code in the Pop-up using the Visual Editor
Use the following steps to add a video hosted on SharePoint:
Step 1: Get the video embed code
- SharePoint offers two ways to upload videos: Microsoft Stream and the local upload feature. SharePoint does not enable you to share videos that have been locally uploaded outside SharePoint. Only videos uploaded to Microsoft Stream can be uploaded as video content on Whatfix.
- The end user must have permission to watch the video based on the required permissions set in the video. The video does not load if the user does not have the required permissions. Make the video viewable to everyone in the organization or to individual users based on the video permissions.
- Go to the video on Microsoft Stream and open it.
- Click Share and then click Embed code from the dropdown to copy the code.
Step 2: Insert the video embed code in the Pop-up
Use the following steps to insert the video embed code in the Pop-up:
-
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.
-
Click Pop-ups.
-
Hover your cursor over the Pop-up segment you want to configure, and then click the Edit icon.
-
In the Description section, place the cursor where you want to add the video and double-click to open the Rich Text Editor.
-
Click the + icon. The Add Component dialog box opens.
-
On the Add Component dialog box, click Video.
-
Paste the embed code.
-
Click Insert and finish creating the Pop-up.
- If you want the video to autoplay for your end users, click Autoplay while inserting the video.
- Finish creating the Pop-up.
