Yes, Whatfix enables you to edit content or widgets in the Draft stage while a version continues to be in the Production stage. All you need to do is hover the cursor over the content or widget that you want to edit in the Production stage and then click the Edit in draft icon.
Only an Account Manager can perform the following task. For more information about available roles, see Whatfix User Roles.
There are two ways to edit content:
- Click Unpublish to unpublish the content from the Production Stage. Doing so removes the content completely from the Production Stage. Once you are done, you can edit the content in the Draft stage and then push it back to production.
- Click Edit in draft action in the Production Stage. Whatfix creates a new version of the same content or widget in the Draft Stage. Doing so does not affect the existing content in production. Make changes to the content or widget in the Draft Stage, move it to the Ready Stage, and then click Publish to update the content with the latest version.
If you do not wish to edit the draft, you have the option to delete the entire draft (including all the versions) from the Draft stage. You cannot delete just one specific version of the draft.
Also note, you have the option to restore any previous version of a draft. The version that's restored becomes the latest version of the draft. And the restored version does not have any impact on the content which is already in the Production Stage unless you publish the latest version of the draft.
