Whatfix Studio Extension
Use the Whatfix Studio extension to create content. The Studio extension is readily available on the Chrome Web Store.
Whatfix Studio extension requires the following permissions:
-
Read and change your data on all websites: Whatfix requires this permission to display Flows, Smart Tips, and more. This enables understanding of the HTML structure of the page and access to the elements where Whatfix content appears. Whatfix does not read 'data' on these pages; it reads the HTML structure to position Flow steps or Smart Tips. Chrome does not differentiate between HTML content, structure, and data; it considers page structure as data.
-
Add existing browsing data to managed profiles
This selection permits users to import their current browsing data, including history, bookmarks, saved passwords, and settings, to a managed profile. Managed profiles serve as separate accounts for sharing devices or managing multiple users. This ensures a smooth transition, maintains browsing continuity, and protects privacy across profiles.
-
Personalise Search based on your history
Synchronize browsing data, such as history and bookmarks, across multiple devices by enabling sync in settings. Chrome utilizes this data to personalize search results and other services based on browsing history, offering a more tailored online experience.
Whatfix Extension
Whatfix extension must be deployed for end users so the content created is displayed on relevant applications.
Whatfix extension requires the following permission from the IT team or end users:
The Developer mode must be enabled for the Whatfix extension to be deployed, and visible on My Extensions tab in Chrome extensions.
End users can deploy Whatfix Extension themselves. For more information, see Manage Whatfix Extension.
