Issue
Flow has failed because 'CSS Selector provided for the step failed to find the element.'
Probable Causes
Following are some potential cases where a Flow might fail because 'CSS Selector provided for the step failed to find the element.'
- The configured CSS Selectors don't point to the correct element or are unable to identify the element. For more information, see How to find the CSS Selector of an element using Whatfix Studio?
- One or more CSS Selectors are invalid. For example, the class or id of the element is incorrectly copied. For more information, see Selected Element conditon rules.
- A user runs a Flow and navigates to a different page where the Flow doesn't have any steps to show. Whatfix still expects to display the steps but is unable to locate the correct element and, consequently, the Flow fails due to missing CSS properties.
- If the Flow was created a long time ago, the properties of the element structure may have changed. Re-selecting the failed steps ensures that the Flow doesn't fail. For more information, see Reselect Elements to manage UI changes.
Suggested Solution
Reselect the element and verify if the CSS Selectors are configured correctly. For more information, see Selected Element conditon rules.
