Paste the Measurement ID from GA4 to the Whatfix Dashboard and finish setting up the account
Only an Account Manager can perform the following task. For more information about available roles, see Whatfix User Roles.
Use the following steps to configure your GA4 account with Whatfix:
-
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
-
Click Analytics.
- Select the Enable Google Analytics checkbox, and then click Setup.
-
Only if the Enable Google Analytics checkbox is enabled, the engagement events are recorded, that is, events where users interact with Whatfix widgets.
-
If the Send All Events checkbox is enabled, all the engagement events in addition to loading events are recorded, that is, events where Whatfix Widgets are loaded even if the users don't interact with them.
-
If you're capturing all the events and your organization is on the Standard Google Analytics plan, then some events may not be captured after it crosses the event limit. For more information, see Google Analytics Collection Limits and Quotas.
-
On the Upgrade to Google Analytics GA4 pop-up, paste the copied Measurement ID.
-
Click Connect to GA4.
-
On the confirmation pop-up, click Connect to GA4.
- Once you set up your GA4 account, you have to do a Push to production to start sending Whatfix usage data. For more information, see Push Whatfix content and widgets to Production.
- If you've enabled Subresource Integrity (SRI) for your account and want to send Whatfix usage data to your GA4 account, ensure that you update the Whatfix JavaScript with the new JavaScript that is generated after doing a Push to production.
