The Whatfix Creator Widget is an in-app widget that acts as an interface between Whatfix and your mobile app. It appears after you install Whatfix Mobile and integrate the Whatfix Mobile Creator SDK into your application. For more information, see Install Whatfix Mobile.
The Whatfix Creator Widget is only used during development and testing. The production version of your mobile app must exclude the Whatfix Mobile Creator SDK.
What can I do with the Whatfix Creator Widget?
View application details
Inside the Whatfix Creator Widget, the following details are available:
App version: The version of your mobile application as specified in your app’s configuration files. For more information, see What is an App Version?
App version code: An integer value assigned to each version of your mobile application.
Whatfix SDK version: The Whatfix SDK version currently used in your app.
Capture screens
The Whatfix Creator Widget enables you to capture a screen on your app as a screenshot and save it to the dashboard. Then you can create in-app guidance content from the dashboard on your saved screens. The content created on the dashboard will reflect on your app on the corresponding screen after it is published. For more information, see Capture Mobile app screens using Whatfix Creator Widget.
Preview projects
Whatfix enables you to preview how your content looks and test how end users would interact with it before publishing it. For more information, see Preview project using Whatfix Creator widget.
Access debugging tools
Debugging tools contain data and logs useful for Whatfix’s support team to debug issues with your content. For more information, see Debugging Tools for Whatfix Mobile.
