Article summary

Introduction

Sometimes an end user may close a Flow while it is playing. This could be because of many reasons. The end user may have figured out what the next steps are going to be. However, if they have not, it's always a good idea to check.

The following are the scenarios in which end users can close a Flow:

  • They are already aware of the steps they must follow to complete a task.
  • They closed a Flow by mistake.
  • They closed a Flow that was not relevant to the task they wanted to complete.

Whatfix enables you to handle Flow closures in two ways:

To enable any of the Flow Closure features, contact support@whatfix.com.
  • Flow Closure Feedback: Enables you to receive feedback from your end users on the reason for the Flow closure and also gives the option to resume the Flow.

For more information, see Flow Closure Feedback.

  • Resume a Flow after Closing it: Enables you to show a Flow resume message to your end users when they close the Flow.

For example, the message could say, "You closed an ongoing guided help. Do you want to resume it?". This message will help them resume the Flow if they have closed the Flow by mistake.

  • If both features are enabled together, the Flow Closure Feedback takes precedence over the Flow Closure Resume. So, it is recommended to use both features independently.
  • If none of the Flow Closure features are enabled, then the end user won't see any Flow closure message or an option to resume the Flow when they close the Flow.
