Translate Pop-ups in multiple languages

You don't have to create different Pop-ups for each language in case you use multiple languages to author Whatfix content. You can use the Whatfix Translations capability to translate Pop-ups.
- Raise a request with the Account Manager to add the required languages to your account. For more information, see Add a new language.
- Whatfix supports 70 global languages for you to create content. For more information, see Languages supported by Whatfix.
- You can translate the Pop-ups using the UI. For more information, see Translate content in the UI.
Let's assume you want to create a Pop-up for your English and German-speaking users. You would like to notify them about your privacy policy update. Apart from the Pop-up content being in English and German, respectively, you would also like to route your users to the respective language support page.
Whatfix recognizes the application language of your user and then displays the Whatfix content in that language. For more information, see How does Whatfix select which language content to display?
Translating Pop-ups is a two-step process
Step 1: Create the Pop-up in a default language
Step 2: Translate the Pop-up into multiple languages
Use the following steps to achieve the translation of Pop-ups in multiple languages:
Step 1: Create the Pop-up in a default language
When you create a new Pop-up, you don't have to start from scratch. Instead, you can base your new Pop-up on a template. Whatfix enables you to choose from 15 templates. For more information, see Create Pop-ups.
Step 2: Translate the Pop-up
Use the following steps to translate the Pop-up:

On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.

Click Translations.

Click the language to which you want to translate the content.

Select the type of content you want to translate using the dropdown.

Select the Pop-up you want to translate.
- You can only translate the Content and Widgets that are in the Draft and Ready stages.
- You can view the Stage at which the Content or Widget is in the Stage column.
- Out of Date implies that there is a more recent version of the default content that needs to be translated.
- Translate the content, and then add the German support URL in the Button 1 Action.
If you've added an image to the Pop-up, you can also change the image based on the language.
- Click Translate all.
You can auto-translate the content if your default content creation language and the language to be translated into are both supported by auto-translation.

On the confirmation pop-up, click Translate all.

Once done, click Save.
The translated content status is updated to Completed and moved to the end of the list. For more information see, Language file translation status.
- Whatfix doesn’t validate the accuracy of the translated language. For example, a user can select German and enter the text in Russian.
- Only Account Managers can add additional languages.
- The language used to show Whatfix content to the end-user depends on the language selected in the application and browser. For more information, see Enable Whatfix to detect the language of your application.
- Select Properties using the Content Type dropdown to translate Whatfix UI text. This ensures that the user sees both the content you created and the Whatfix UI in the translated language.
