You can select any one of the following project types based on your use case,
- Onboarding & Training
- Nudges
- In-app messages
- In-app help
- Delight
- NBU Assistant
Each project contains Whatfix Mobile elements like Walkthrough, Tooltip, Highlight, Pop-up, Bottom Sheet, etc. based on the project type you select.
Use the following steps to create a project,
- Step 1: Create a project
- Step 2: Connect your mobile app and capture the app screen
- Step 3: Identify the screen
- Step 4: Design the element
Step 1: Create a project
On the Whatfix Mobile Dashboard, select the App in which you want to create a project.
To create a new project, click New.
Based on your use case, select your Project Type. For this example, let's consider a Tooltip.
Enter a name for your project.
Enter the App version or select the App Version using the dropdown.
Ensure that you add the correct app version from the app build that was integrated with the Whatfix Mobile SDK. Often developers use the dev/staging build to integrate any third-party SDK.
Step 2: Connect your mobile app and capture the app screen
You need to connect your mobile app to the Whatfix Mobile Studio before you can start creating your in-app experience like Tooltip. This can be done by scanning the QR code available on the Whatfix Mobile Studio using your mobile app integrated with Whatfix Mobile.
Open your app integrated with Whatfix Mobile on your mobile phone and then enable the Creator mode.
Navigate to the Whatfix Mobile Studio on your browser and scan the QR code using your mobile app.
- Your app is connected to the Tooltip project.
- To capture the screen on which you want to create your Tooltip, click Capture.
This process needs to be repeated for every screen you want to create the in-app experience on.
Step 3: Identify the screen
After capturing the screen, you need to identify the unique elements on the screen and tag the screen so that the in-app experience you create appears on the right page.
To identify the unique elements on the screen to tag the right screen, click Add Identifier.
Click the desired element on the page.
Example: If you want to show a Tooltip on the Home screen, you can choose the title Home, which can uniquely identify the screen and show the Tooltip on the correct screen. Click Add More to select more elements on the page and then repeat step 2.
Step 4: Design the element
You need to choose a template for your Tooltip and select the element upon which you want to place the Tooltip. Once the Tooltip is set to appear on the element you want, you can design the Tooltip as per your requirement.
Use the following steps to design your Tooltip,
On the Whatfix Mobile Studio, navigate to the left and select Design.
Choose a template for your Tooltip.
To target the element on which you want to place your Tooltip, click Identify Screen.
Select the desired element on the screen.
Click Confirm.
- The Tooltip appears on the element you choose.
- To place your Tooltip elsewhere, click Change.
Click the Tooltip to configure the following,
On the Body of the Tooltip, you can edit the text, add user property, font, font size, font weight, text alignment, text color, and bottom margin
You can align the Body text to the top or bottom, add any content block, or delete the Body section using the action bar
You can increase, decrease, or delete the Topspacer using the action bar
Configure AUTO DISMISS if you want to dismiss an element automatically after an interval. You can also configure the TRIGGER EVENT and ELEMENT TERMINATION events.
- Click the Edit icon to enable Overlay, change the Tooltip color, and add Ripple Effect.
- Click Done.
The Tooltip you create is automatically saved. You can preview projects on your device before making them live for your end users. After creating and designing the Tooltip, click Publish to make the Tooltip live for your end users. For more information on publishing Whatfix Mobile content, see Publish Whatfix Mobile content
