Personalize content for end users with SSO-based User attributes
What is new?
Whatfix introduces SSO-based User attributes for role segmentation to improve accuracy and personalize content delivery. You can now fetch user attributes directly from your SSO provider and display content to a specific set of users.
Why does it matter to me?
Leverage attributes from your SSO, such as employee type, department, or location, to segment content and deliver a tailored experience for your end users. Use these attributes as filters in Product analytics to dive deeper into user behavior and make data-driven decisions.
How do I do this?
SSO-based user attributes is a Beta feature. Use the Sign up for Beta button to get started.
Enhanced Application Environment Configuration and Whatfix Player Extension
What is new?
Application Environment Configuration
Whatfix now offers an enhanced environment configuration setup that enables you to define application environments using a variety of application attributes such as URLs, CSS Selectors, Window variables etc. This configuration ensures accurate environment resolution and prevents conflicts that are frequent in multi-application deployments. Based on your requirements, map dashboard stages to the application environment that dictates the content display rules for environments.
Whatfix Player Extension
Introducing the Whatfix Player Extension, that consolidates all functionalities, such as preview extension, dev extension and production extension into one single super extension. It has improved preview features and uses the same extension to display content to your end users too.
Previously, testing content changes required the Studio's preview mode and the dev extension. The introduction of the preview extension added complexity, making it imperative to install and test additional changes.
Why does it matter to me?
The upcoming updates to the platform address critical challenges that users face with current content testing and extension management processes.
This initiative will significantly cut down onboarding times by streamlining processes and reducing reliance on IT administrators for extension deployment. You can effortlessly configure and tweak environments on your own from the Whatfix dashboard.
How do I do this?
The Whatfix Player Extension and the enhanced application environment configuration are Beta features. Use the Sign up for Beta button to get started.
Enhanced Dashboard Edit Experience
What is new?
The Enhanced Dashboard Edit Experience for Flows, Smart Tips, Beacons, and Launchers introduces a revamped user interface that simplifies customization and content management within the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard. The new UI aligns with Studio, ensuring a consistent experience across both Whatfix Studio and the Dashboard. You can make live edits, add or delete steps, customize tooltips, add branches, and more, all within a more intuitive and user-friendly environment.
Why does it matter to me?
Capabilities such as editing Launchers, adding branches to Flow steps, and more are now available on both Studio and the Dashboard, providing a consistent edit experience across both platforms.
How do I do this?
Enhanced Dashboard Edit Experience is a Beta feature. Use the Sign up for Beta button to get started.
For more information, see Enhanced Dashboard Edit Experience.
Use CSS for tooltip customization
What is new?
Whatfix enables you to modify the appearance of tooltips with the help of CSS customization. Make detailed visual tweaks to tooltips that are otherwise not possible due to limited UI options.
Why does it matter to me?
CSS customization gives you more control over the design of tooltips, to match your brand's guidelines and deliver a better user experience. With access to the CSS code view, you can adjust the tooltip width, tweak tooltip background color or button font color, and more.
How do I do this?
This capability is available to everyone without needing any additional configurations. For more information, see Use CSS for tooltip customization.
